The Sleep Mate 980-A Sound Machine produces a smooth fan like sound that most people find very familiar and pleasing. The SleepMate does not loop unlike practically every other sound machine out there. By looping we mean playing a short recorded segment of sound over and over in an endless loop. Don't underestimate how important it is to have a sound machine that doesn't loop. If you can detect a repetitive quality in the sound, then that can be more annoying than the noise you are trying to mask. Again, the Sleep Mate 980 is one of the few machines made that creates its own sound and does not loop. The Sleep Mate is the only sound machine that creates a real low volume mechanical hum or true fan sound.

In addition to the two speed version of the Sleep Mate 980A, you can get a single speed Sleep Mate 580 White Noise Machine. The only difference between the 980 and 580 sound machines is that the 980 has a low and high speed whereas the 580 only has one speed that is identical to the high speed of the 980.

There are two models of 980 to choose from: Sleep Mate and Sound Screen (see the pull down menu below). These two models are identical except for the name. The Sound Screen name is most often chosen for office environments.

The Sleep Mate 980-A Sound Machine plugs into a standard 110-120 volt outlet with its 8' cord, uses 20 watts or less and is UL listed.

Cylindrical in shape - size is about 5.75" base diameter, 3.25" high. Weight is about 1.6 lb.
