If you love nature sounds, this is the ultimate. The Nature Sound Machine 1288A has eight base nature sounds which can only play one at a time. Over the base sound you can choose up to eight additional overlay nature sounds that randomly play along with the base sound. In effect, you can create the nature sound you want by combining sounds any way you want. Personally, I like to customize the lakeshore sound with its gentle lapping waves by overlaying it with an occasional mourning dove, frog or loon with gentle crickets all played at very low volume.

The USA Made Nature Sound Machine Marsona 1288A is easy and intuitive to operate. Sounds are activated by push buttons while tone and volume are controlled by slide controls. All controls are conveniently located on the front panel.

Nature sounds can vary a great deal as it pertains to their effectiveness at blocking or masking other annoying sounds. My personal experience tells me that water sounds such as lapping waves are the most effective at blocking noise and relaxing the mind. I think that the irregular random pattern created by moving water is especially effective at masking other irregular noises such as snoring. There is no doubt that humans came from nature and have an instinctive connection to it, just how powerful that connection is, is subject to debate. Using a nature sound machine can help you reconnect with the sounds of nature. Experiment with different nature sound combinations and see what works best for you.

The Marsona 1288A Nature Sound Machine has a built in speaker or you can use the mono accessory plug in the back which will take headphones (stereo to mono adapter required for stereo headphones) or external speakers and allow play through your stereo (with "Y" adapter not included). There is a timer control which will turn the machine off after 60 minutes when activated.

The Marsona 1288A Nature Sound Machine runs on standard 110/120 volt household power and the use of a surge protector is recommended. An international version of the 1288 is available at
