Best Coiled Garden Water Hose Coil Anaconda 1 & 2 | | Anaconda, Garden Coil and Anaconda 2 Professional Series hoses by Coil Solution. Coil Solution / Garden Coil has years of experience in coiled hose design. From calculating tubing diameters, coil ratios and tail lengths, to wall thickness, burst pressure and tensile strength, Coil Solution understands it all.
Before buying just any coiled garden hose, consider these questions.
- What is the life expectancy of the hose?
- What is it made from?
- Is the compound used drinking water safe?
- What is the burst pressure?
- What is the flow rate?
- What tail lengths come on the coil?
- How completely does the coil rebound after use?
- Does the hose have UV ray (sun) protection?
Experience tells us that not just any Polyurethane compound should be used to make quality, long lasting coiled garden hoses. Only top quality, drinking water safe, Ether-based Polyurethane is used to make an Anaconda / Garden Coil hose product. Why is this important? It's because products that are made from substantially less expensive compounds like Ester-based Polyurethanes and PVC fillers are not designed for long-term use with water and are not drinking water safe. Cracking, hydrolysis, tube-splitting and ultimately tube failure usually follows within very short periods of time, generally ranging anywhere from as little as 6-12 months. Ether-based products will generally last for 5-10 years or more. (This data comes from detailed lab testing results provided by independent plastic tubing manufacturers and chemical compound manufacturers such as Dow Chemical, BF Goodrich and others.)
Quality Components: The next equally important step in making a quality product are the parts we design to take your coiled watering hose experience and our product to the next level. We start with specially machined brass parts to guarantee leak-free connections rather than using cheaper plastic fittings; we then install pressure sensitive nylon clamps surrounding the fittings that ensure solid leak-free connections to the hose that never come off; and lastly we install high-density rubberized hose kink guards over these clamps on both ends of the hose to eliminate any possibility of the hose collapsing or kinking to a closed position when pulled taunt from the faucet.
Differences Between the Anaconda and Anaconda II
The Anaconda inside diameter is 3/8" and 1/2" on the Anaconda II.
Working pressure on the Anaconda is 150 psi versus 600 psi.
Flow rate for the Anaconda is 4-5 gpm versus 8.6 gpm.
The diameter of the coils on the Anaconda is about 3.25" and 5" on the Anaconda II.
The Anaconda is easier to handle and stores into a smaller space.
NOTE: The manufacturer of these quality coiled hoses has stopped producing them citing the flood of cheap inferior hoses coming from China. We still have access to high quality straight hoses made from the same high quality compounds and components as the Anaconda. To compliment the Flexeel hoses, we recommend quality U.S Made Dramm sprayers and wands.
