Comparison of HoMedic and Marpac Sound Machines. The HoMedic machines use a short recorded segment of sound that continuously loops (looping is especially evident in selections that have animal sounds and no so noticeable on the steady sounds like rain or waterfall) whereas the digital Marpac machines synthesize their sounds - no looping. So, if you are sensitive to the quality and repetitive nature of a sound, your best bet would be a Marpac machine. Otherwise the HoMedic machines represent a good value.
