Commercial grade machined brass fittings are specially double plated (once with nickel and then with chrome) to prevent lead from leaching into the water. Our specially engineered, polyether-based polyurethane is designed for long-term safe water use. It costs money to make commercial grade hose fittings that last; that are truly crush-proof; that do not leach lead; that have longer specially machined threads to eliminate leaks; that are double plated with both nickel and chrome to to give them a super hard and durable finish and that keep them looking new for the life of the hose.
