Only top quality, lower contaminant, Ether-based Polyurethane reinforced with tough Dacron Polyester is used to make the Flexeel hoses. Hoses that are made from substantially less expensive compounds like Ester-based Polyurethanes and PVC fillers are not designed for long-term use with water and are not drinking water safe. Cracking, hydrolysis, tube-splitting and ultimately tube failure usually follows within very short periods of time, generally ranging anywhere from as little as 6-12 months. Ether-based Polyurethanes will generally last for 5-10 years or more.
